I love smoothies. They are the number one way I get my daily dose of fruit. Don't get me wrong; I love fresh fruit. However, I don't drink soda or juice, so often a fruit smoothie is my version of juice. This recipe was a special request by a friend (HI ALLY!). I whipped it up earlier this week and she insisted I throw the recipe on the blog.

The two things I love about this drink are the rose tea and the lemon slice with its peel. Both carry super-health benefits. I love rose tea because it helps detoxify your body. As for the lemon with its peel, it also helps you eradicate toxins from your body. Fun fact: I put lemon in every thing—I infuse all of my drinking water with lemon slices. That being said, smoothies are what I drink in the morning with my breakfast pancakes.

  • China Rose tea or any rose tea you prefer
  • Strawberry
  • Pineapple
  • Banana
  • Lemon slice with peel

  • Cut-up strawberry, pineapple, and banana, mix, place in sandwich baggies, and freeze (I love meal prepping, so I always have a freezer filled with frozen fruit baggies)

  • Boil water and steep China Rose tea for 7 minutes
  • Once tea is ready, in a blender (I use a NutriBullet), combine tea with frozen fruit and one lemon slice with peel, mix for 30 seconds, and pour into a glass
